Your Guide to Getting the Most Out of Your Color or Extension Service
Whether you’re coming in for a full color transformation, a luxury lived-in refresh, or a fresh extension install, preparing for your hair appointment properly makes all the difference in results and experience.
My goal is always to make sure you walk out of the salon feeling elevated, empowered, and polished. But great hair doesn’t just start in the chair...it starts with how you prep before you arrive.
Here’s how to make the most of your investment and ensure your hair appointment is smooth, relaxing, and completely aligned with your vision.

1. Know Your Hair Goals (and Bring Visuals!)
Before any color or extension service, I always encourage clients to bring 1–3 inspiration photos. These help us get aligned on tone, length, and overall vibe especially for custom color blends or lived-in looks that can vary widely.
Pro tip: Choose photos that reflect hair textures and tones similar to yours for more realistic results.
2. Come with Clean, Dry Hair (Unless We’ve Discussed Otherwise)
For color or extension installs, clean and dry hair is usually best especially if I’m working with your natural texture, doing root work, or bonding extensions.
Avoid heavy styling products, dry shampoo, or oils the day of. A fresh canvas helps the products process more evenly and ensures optimal bond security for extensions.
3. Wear Something Comfortable + Neutral
Photos are often taken during or after your service (hello, Instagram-worthy hair!), so wearing a neutral or solid-colored top helps your hair be the focus and looks great in photos. Comfort is also key, especially for longer services like extensions or full transformations.
4. Be Honest About Your Hair History
I can work magic with the right information but it’s crucial I know your full hair history. If you’ve had box dye, henna, keratin, or previous extension damage, let me know so I can plan accordingly and set realistic expectations.
No judgment ever! Just transparency so I can protect your hair and deliver the best results possible.
5. Block Off Enough Time
Luxury services are an investment in both time and results. Rushing through a complex service like dimensional color or an extension install can compromise the quality and experience. I always provide estimated timing when you book, but it’s smart to give yourself a buffer for post-appointment styling, photos, or any last-minute tweaks.
6. Bring Questions or Concerns
This is your time whether you want to explore switching from hand-tied to K-Tips, talk through maintenance needs, or adjust your formula or length, feel free to bring it up. I always build in time for thoughtful consultation and education, especially for first-time clients or new services.
